The Wedding Chapter of Aristea & JosinaldoSydney Harbour Wedding

Aristea and Josinaldo (affectionately known as Jojo) were travelling over from America for their Greek wedding ceremony so understandably they wanted to feature iconic locations in their Sydney harbour wedding. The beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair provided a Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge backdrop with the wedding reception at the heritage Intercontinental hotel.

The day started at the bride’s parental home in Bronte, decorated with the family’s old Christmas tree and the piano Aristea once sat at as a young girl. Both professional musicians, it’s these details that help bring more of their unique story into the wedding pictures.

The groom and father of the bride needed a little help getting ready for ceremony, ties straightened and button holes pinned.

Time to get married! Aristea’s proud Dad lifts the veil ready to walk his nervous but excited daughter down the aisle to meet her happy groom. The traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony involves exchanging of ornate crowns and blessings of the rings.

The genuine, heartfelt moments are my favourite to capture as a professional photographer from Jojo’s emotional father that had traveled from the other side of the world to be with his son as he got married, the look of a proud grandmother that had helped care for Aristea as a child, to the cheeky face of the two year old flower girl that’s too busy having fun to stand still for a family portrait.

The couple were keen to explore Sydney’s urban side, so on scouting the local area of Paddington I discovered a secret spot close to the church that provided a character filled, back street feel for a quick post wedding portrait shoot.

On to a few iconic Sydney harbour wedding spots, Black Cab Central provided stylish, vintage London transport for the day.

The reception provided good food, great views and traditional dancing with every guest filling the dance floor and thanking me for making their day so great, all I can say is, to Aristea and Jojo, and to all of your family and friends, thank you for including me in your big day.
